Astralis have announced that Jakob "Jabbi" Nygaard is back in their lineup for the rest of the team's Stake Ranked run in Barcelona. According to the club, he is coming straight from the airport at very little notice.

What Astralis said

In a statement posted on X, Astralis wrote that "there is never a dull moment in esports" and praised Jabbi for stepping up "at this pivotal moment", calling it a sign of "exactly the kind of professional he is". The club closed the post with: "Now, let's play some Counter-Strike!"

Why it matters for the Major

The move follows the roster question VetoTime reported on yesterday: VRS analyst Jesper "Udknud" Larsen and HLTV editor-in-chief Milan "Striker" Švejda warned that a possible overlap involving cmtry and FUT's ranked roster could put Astralis' Singapore Major invitation at risk if Astralis could not field an intact roster.

Astralis' statement does not mention the Major or the invitation directly. Bringing in Jabbi gives the team a fifth player for the remaining Barcelona matches, but whether this settles the invitation question depends on how the relevant roster is counted in Valve's standings and invitation process. No official ruling has been published at the time of writing.

What to watch

  • Which five players Astralis field in their remaining Stake Ranked matches.
  • Any clarification from Valve or the tournament organiser on the invitation roster.
  • Updates to the Valve Regional Standings ahead of the Major invitations.

VetoTime will update this story if an official decision is announced.
