Will Astralis miss the Major in Singapore? FUT roster issue raises concerns
Udknud and Striker have highlighted a possible Major invitation problem involving FUT, cmtry and Astralis. The concern hinges on roster recognition and Valve's intact-roster rules — not a confirmed disqualification.

Astralis' route to the Singapore Major may depend on more than their position in the Valve Regional Standings. A roster question involving FUT and cmtry has prompted warnings from VRS analyst Jesper “Udknud” Larsen and HLTV editor-in-chief Milan “Striker” Švejda.
Neither post is an official ruling that Astralis will miss the Major. They describe a potential invitation problem if FUT's changed lineup is not reflected in the relevant VRS roster before invitations are issued.
Why FUT's fifth player matters
The concern is that cmtry could remain part of FUT's ranked roster while also appearing in Astralis' lineup. In the scenario discussed by Udknud, FUT need to reach the five-match threshold with their new fifth player for the changed roster to be recognised in the invitation standings.
That is a roster-recognition issue, not simply a requirement to win five matches. The decisive questions are which matches count and which five players appear together in the relevant invitation snapshot. An organisation's name and its current playing lineup do not necessarily tell the whole story.
Udknud: FUT's quarterfinal could change the picture
In the supplied post, Udknud argues that FUT's quarterfinal at PGL Masters Bucharest has implications for both Astralis' Major invitation and Falcons' potential Stage 3 invitation.
His assessment is that a FUT win would allow Astralis to breathe a sigh of relief by removing cmtry from FUT's VRS lineup. A defeat, he says, would leave Astralis' invitation uncertain because of the potential roster overlap. He also argues that a FUT win could threaten Falcons' Stage 3 position.
Those are Udknud's assessments of the scenario, not confirmed invitation outcomes. A quarterfinal result is not itself a separate Valve eligibility rule: the underlying match count and final roster snapshot still matter.

Striker points to the intact-roster requirement
Striker's post reinforces the concern, but explicitly describes his conclusion as a best estimate. He cites a previous exchange with Valve about finalising rosters five matches before the Major invitation deadline, and points to the Major Supplemental Rulebook's requirement that invitations go to intact rosters.
His comment about a four-player roster addresses whether a roster would still qualify as intact if it could not retain its fifth player. It is not confirmation that Astralis have already been reduced to four players or formally excluded.

What Valve's published rules actually say
Valve's Tournament Operation Requirements define a roster as five specific athletes, regardless of their association with an organisation. The Major Supplemental Rulebook says invitations are sent to intact rosters, and that the registered core lineup must match the invited roster. If an invited roster is no longer intact, the invitation passes to the next-highest ranked roster.
These provisions explain why the issue matters. They do not, on their own, establish that Astralis are automatically disqualified in this specific situation.
TOR means Tournament Operation Requirements — it is the rule framework, not a decision-making organisation. The tournament organiser administers invitations under Valve's rules. Striker's comments are relevant reporting on the interpretation; they are not evidence that HLTV alone has issued a binding decision on Astralis' eligibility.
Will Astralis miss the Major in Singapore?
For now, that remains an open question in the scenario described by the two posts. FUT's recognised roster at the invitation cutoff and any clarification from Valve or the tournament organiser are what readers should watch next.
VetoTime has not verified an official decision excluding Astralis. This report is based on the supplied screenshots and Valve's publicly available rules; the current state of the linked X posts and subsequent match results have not been independently confirmed.
